Meet our Pastor and Pastoral Intern

Pastor Paul Eyer comes to us with many skills and varied life experiences.  He was an attorney in his first career. He graduated from George Washington University in 1984 with a Juris Doctor degree, and he practiced law and served as a legislative assistant to U.S. Senator David L. Boren in Washington, D.C. While Paul chose to study law, his heart was never far from the church. He grew up in a family active in the church, and even as a teenager, he wondered how he could pursue a life of public service.  That goal of service to others led Paul to enter the Lancaster Theological Seminary, where he earned his Master of Divinity in 2006.  While he was in seminary, he met his lovely wife, Jackie, who would become a pastor and chaplain and now serves as Ministries Coordinator of the Vermont Conference of the United Church of Christ.

Paul was a much-loved pastor at St Luke’s United Church of Christ in Lancaster, PA. where he served for four years. Subsequently, he was the Director of Alumni/ae and Church Relations at the Lancaster Theological Seminary, his alma mater. In that role he built relationships with churches and pastors, preached and led worship in many church settings, and had the opportunity to offer support and guidance to seminary students.

Paul counts it a privilege to serve as pastor of Williston Federated Church where he sees God at work through this wonderful congregation.

Legacy

Charlie Magill

Associate Pastor Emeritus

Associate Pastor Emeritus Charlie Magill served as our Associate Pastor for many years, becoming a beloved pillar of the Williston Federated Church family alongside his partner in life and ministry, Ruth. Known for his "faith in action," Charlie was the driving force behind our partnership with Habitat for Humanity. A true testament to an active spirit, he is famously still hitting the ski slopes.  In recognition of his decades of devotion, his hands-on service, and the enduring inspiration he and Ruth have been to us all, he was named Associate Pastor Emeritus upon his retirement.

A Legacy of Presence

The title of Associate Pastor Emeritus is a lifetime honor bestowed by our congregation to celebrate a leader’s profound impact and history of service. While Charlie is retired from the active responsibilities of church administration and formal pastoral care, he remains a vital part of our community’s fabric.

To ensure our ministries are supported effectively, we ask that all current pastoral requests, administrative inquiries, and church business be directed to Pastor Paul Eyer or the Church Office staff listed above.
